FAQs
Do I need any prior experience on stage?
Nope, none at all!
How much does it cost?
Every person who performs on stage in any CentreStage Rolleston production is asked to pay a show levy. The show levy for this production is $50 which helps cover the cost of a CentreStage Rolleston Rock of Ages t-shirt.
Is there an age limit for this show?
Auditions are open to anyone aged 18+ at the time of auditions
What do I need to prepare?
Choose a song to sing in your range for a maximum of 2 minutes. Pick a song in the style of the show, preferably an 80s hit, to show off your rockstar fantasy! Bring a backing track where appropriate or sing a capella, it’s up to you. Be aware that the musical director may ask you to sing with the piano in order to find out your vocal range.
There will also be a cold read during your audition. Copies of scripts will be available on the day to familiarise yourself with prior to your audition. Practice your American accent!
Dance audition
Dance auditions will be held at Rolleston College, Broadlands Drive, Rolleston on Sunday 8 November at 4pm – 5pm. Everyone must attend this.
Remember to bring along comfortable clothing you can move in and a drink bottle.
